Make Music
Over the weekend we visited LA to visit family. As always, we had a grand old time. But the highlight was visiting a small full gospel church in Torrance where Jihye’s dad was guest preaching. They had a person who played the sax as part of the worship band. It truly made it a unique music experience.
What is more, Jihye finally found her music equipment. As soon as we returned home, she...

The Wonder Of Technology
We live in a technological age. Just the other day, David’s mom got a video webcam for her computer. After our phone call, we decided to give Skype Video a chance. And what used to be a 5 to 10 minute brief conversation over the phone turned into a 30 minute in-depth conversation face to face.
Now, video chatting is quickly becoming our main mode of communication across the Pacific ocean.
For Old Time Sake
Here’s an ode to the past, when we dated through google video chat. And yes, we’re in the same room.
Happy New Year everyone!

Giving
As you all know, instead of wedding favors, we gave a donation to UNICEF. Originally we wanted to give to Kiva, “loans that change lives,” but one of the micro-finance blogs I read mentioned how Kiva had some not-so-transparent issues with the way they collected loans and gave to people. Of course, UNICEF is no saint either, but until we learn more about Kiva and whether they are...
Family Traditions
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, we took a trip up to Jihye’s home in Lakewood, Washington. It was the usual grey and drizzly Seattle fall. We took a trip to Snoqualmie Falls to spend some family time and enjoy each other’s company.
We walked around the area, and enjoyed some coffee atop a bavarian style lodge. Life moves at the speed of light, with work, ministry, school, and friends....

Taking a Walk
Last week, we took a stroll through the neighborhood because, that’s what married couples do. I think.
it was a nice autumn evening, where the sun was coming down after a hard day’s work. We caught a glimpse before it disappeared in the horizon, and noticed everything was painted red.
We also snapped some pictures. Yes, this is married life.

ewedding.com Website Going Down
People,
Our ewedding.com wedding website is going to be taken down in 24 hours. Thank you for visiting us. One of the nice things about ewedding.com is that it offers decent analytics for the site. We’ve had 1952 unique visits (this doesn’t count for return visitors), 41 comments, 5 direct messages, 120 RSVPs, and a few hundred votes on polls.
Not bad for only being online for...
Life Is A Beach
There were plenty of Margaritas to be had in Cabo San Lucas. Enough to last a lifetime. Not to mention the cervezas. Pacifico, Dos Equis, Sol, and Corona. I imagine they ship by the truckload every second of the day. The bottlers could not possibly keep up with the demand. It is pure miracle, the fairy dust kind. And tequila? How is it not a trip to Mexico without tequila? Don Julio, Patron, Tres...
10 Best Restaurants in Seattle
Simple Pie.
We know a lot of people are looking forward to some good eating while in Seattle next weekend. Don’t take it from us, but from the professionals at Seattle Metropolitan. They have Seattle’s 10 Best Restaurants of 2009 published. You won’t have time to go to all of them, but I’m sure it’ll be a treat to visit at least one.

22 Days Left...
Can you believe it? We can’t. There’s only 22 days left till we get married. Our 100 day project or so is on its final stretch. And even though it’s gone by so fast, it’s been quite the journey.
Along the way, we’ve run into some rough patches, have learned tremendously more about ourselves, both the good and the bad, and have realized that it’s not just love...
Engagement Photos: Part 4
All of our engagement photos are now complete and online! Many thanks to Sergio and Lisa for helping us out, and for Sergio especially for spending many hours post-processing. Check out his work at his flickr site, and if you’re ever in need of a photographer and are in the bay area, he is quite good.
Engagement Photos: Part 3
We’ve uploaded some enagement photos to our wedding website. Click on “Photo Albums” on the left column and check it out. Sergio and Lisa were awesome photographers that helped us tremendously.
We’re also in the process of updating our website to have more complete information. But if you’re looking for our wedding registry, or directions to the ceremony and...

Engagement Photos: Part 2
Post processing for our engagement photos are in the works by our good friend Sergio. He’s almost done with all of them, and so far what we’ve been seeing, it’s fantastic.
A sneak peak will have to suffice for now. We’ll post some more as things develop.

Things To Do In Seattle
There’s plenty of things to do in Seattle, and we’re glad to hear that this will be the first time in this city for many of you. We’ve gotten some great recommendations from friends, both locals as well as avid yelpers. So, we decided to compile a list.
If you live in Seattle or lived there in the past, we want to hear from you! Feel free to add your recommendation by...
Invitations
The invitations have been sent over the weekend. RSVP will be handled online at our website. Everything is coming along surprisingly nicely. Just need to tie a few loose ends and we should be good to go.
In terms of the big picture, we’re trying to find ways where in our wedding, people will be able to not only meet others but also interact and have fun with them that goes beyond drinking and...
A Night To Remember
We have finally found a place where we hope everyone will have a night to remember. It is the Hyatt at Olive8. It is Seattle’s first LEED certified hotel, “boasting a wide array of innovative energy and water saving features.” It even has a habitable “living roof”. When we visited the site, Tera, the catering manager, was gracious enough to give us a tour of the...
Engagement Photos
Lisa and Sergio during their honeymoon in Spain last year.
Today, we got up early, met up with Sergio and Lisa, and headed over to Monterey for our engagement photos. Serge and Lisa are good friends from our church community, and graciously agreed to take our engagement photos.
It took the whole day, but it was well worth it. We went to the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium and took photos inside...
Almost Crunch Time
We just came back from a trip to Seattle. It’s coming down to the wire, but we’re close to securing a place for our reception. More details will follow shortly.

Dressed To Thrill
We settled on tuxes today from the czars of weddings, Men’s Wearhouse. They pretty much have a monopoly on the whole industry. They know each person is not going to go out and buy a tux or a suit for one day. So what do they do? They make it just cheap enough that you won’t think twice about buying, but expensive enough to have a 200% margin.
Pretty smart? Or pretty evil? It’s...
More From Billy+Lisa Extravaganza
Lisa’s design blog, jolie jolie has a post on all the different design elements put into her wedding. It really is fantastic!
Check the post here. Some of these things we helped put together, such as punching the wood sheets with bird shapes, making the banners, and putting the programs together. It was much fun.
Also, I posted some photos from the wedding on flickr.
Rings
We just got our rings, courtesy of our friend Easter. It’ll take three weeks to build. Ji-hye’s wedding band will look like this one, accompanying the larger engagement ring. David’s will be a simple, platinum rounded band. Easter works as a gemologist/designer for Mark Schneider Design.
She also has her own website where she sells her own hand-crafted and personally designed...
Summer Wedding Fun
Yesterday was our friends’ Billy + Lisa’s wedding in the beautiful Hakone Gardens in Saratoga. There was a lot of anticipation for this wedding because Lisa is quite the craft-y and design-y person. And on top of that, there was a lot of collaboration going on with other design-y friends.
And it did not disappoint! From the lemonade+candy stands, DIY polaroid photobooth, to the...
The Story Continued...
We just added more content to “How We Met” at our site. There’s two more segments before it’s done.
Also, remember when your Econ 101 professor said “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” on the first day of class? Well he was right. Our website provider, ewedding.com, lured us in with a “free wedding website!” offer. But it turns out, in...
Buttons!
We’re thinking about making buttons and handing them out to the guests. But, we’re not sure what kind of designs to create or use. Any ideas? Leave a comment.
Also, check out the above button designs at Etsy.
Joining The Club
This past weekend, Jihye and I went to Napa Valley with some old and new friends. The weather was perfect, mid 80s, clear blue sky, and a gentle breeze. Our first stop was V. Sattui, the most decorated winery in Napa Valley that prides itself for not selling its wine anywhere except at the vineyard premises. If you want V. Sattui wine, you have to visit the vineyard or become a wine of the month...
New Quiz On The Site
We’ve posted a new quiz for everyone to take. Visit the site and show us your knowledge. Oh, and for the polling question “what wedding favor would you prefer,” it seems that we have a lot of altruistic friends and family. Charitable contributions is taking the lead, but it’s still too early to tell since there are only 16 responses. So, feel free to let us know, and we...
The People Have Spoken
We just posted a new polling question on our website. The previous one, “which beer would you like to drink at our wedding?” was really a joke. All the choices were domestic beers that typical college students drink (it’s cheap and does the job). I’ve gotten some nasty-grams complaining about the selection. My high school buddy even called me and said there’s...
Dresses That Didn't Make The Cut
Ji-Hye went dress shopping over the weekend. I told her to stay within the budget, because, you know, it’s really important to stay within budget. I knew of a tree that produced leaves that looked just like hundred dollar bills, but unfortunately that tree does not grow in our backyard. So the only other alternative is to stay within budget.
On the first day of the weekend, Ji-Hye went to a...
We Booked A Photographer →
Photo by John & Joseph Photography.
We booked our photographer. The company name is John & Joseph Photography, Inc. They came highly recommended, and we got a chance to peruse through their portfolio, and we were quite impressed.
They were also very friendly and easy to talk to over the phone. I think it’s key to be able to work with people you could get along with. If I think I...
Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

So It Begins.
I’ve started this blog to chronicle the next 100 days in getting married. So far, it’s been hectic. But a good friend gave some solid advice… “have fun while you’re planning.”
So, we’re trying to have “fun” in mind. Calling venues, booking photographers, and making invitations does not elicit “fun” readily, so it requires some...
